Properties

EL 174 is a highly alkaline non

foaming, silicate based powder. This

product is cyanide-free and can be used

for cathodic or for anodic cleaning. It is

also suitable for spray cleaning for iron,   copper and its alloys.

Application

Electrolytical   cleaning:

dosage:           6 – 8%

temperature:      20 –40°C  

application   time: 1 – 10 min.

Spray   cleaning:

dosage:           1 – 3%

temperature:      20 – 80°C

application   time: 1 – 3 min.

Reagents:

1 n HCl

phenolphthalein

Calculation

Pipette   5 ml bath solution into a 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask, add ca. 100 ml dem. water,   3 drops of indicator and titrate with 1 n HCl from red to colourless.

Consumption in ml x 0,9 = EL 174

Ingredients

sodium hydroxide, silicates, salts of organic acids.
